More Ebay Sales

Shop Sales

Thanks for a fabulous year on Ebay! Besides Arthur and three fab Himstedts, I got to spoil my Best Witch in Gettysburg for our birthdays and retreat to The 1777 Americana Inn. As a thank you I've marked more and more things on sale for the holidays: handmade art dolls, original watercolors, antiques, and rare books. Your generosity will be shared at Christmas at Joanna Furnace and The Letitia Penn Doll Club Christmas party. I'm making my shopping list for Thanksgiving. I'm making corn pudding from an early American recipe in my new cookbook from Conrad Weiser Homestead. I made it to the Ms with my Christmas cards. I'm also reading Punch The Delights and Dangers of the Flowing Bowl that Ron got me for Christmas last year from Pottsgrove Manor.TTYL...

Thank You! 🦃

Prims & That

I like some prims like country and rap. I like anything good. Speaking of witch', heartbroken, devastated, and sick over Charlie Kirk. The media must be held accountable for inciting cold blooded murder. It's hate speech, if anything, and these are the most hateful scum on the planet. It wouldn't have happened if he wasn't a Christian. These schools that incite this sort of stuff need to be closed: forty-six school shootings this year. These murders are not happening at the gun range. Goody, here, reminds me to be thankful for what I have. I will be listing some primitives on Ebay. I even had made some DARK SHADOWS ones that have come back to me since some passings, if I can find them. We'll see. I'd forgotten to show you this Stranger Things knit that Frankie is so obsessed with that I gave it to him. I find it outside my door sacrificed like a rat. God Bless Charlie Kirk's dear family. So sad. 🕈

From BATTLEFIELD

"Again, that reminder or remainder of humanity wafted on the air, and it startled me. I thought I might be going mad.

Having respect for the dead means that future generations don't pave over cemeteries for parking lots. Cemeteries are paved over, on occasion, but it is the exception rather than the rule. There is no law, however, that says cemeteries can't be tourist attractions. A headstone, plain or fancy, reminds onlookers that so-and-so existed within the confines of two dates. If the carved numerals are decipherable, a moment of mental arithmetic ensues, a calculation of how old so-and-so lived to be.

In Harrisonburg there are more than 250 Confederate graves in a quadrant of the oldest cemetery. Each small marble marker reads like a word in a chilling sentence, or a sentence in a numbing chapter. The regularity with which the markers are placed, row upon row like a marching battalion, suggests an orderliness, a solidarity of purpose. The Southern Cause is given shape and substance. I know it is an act of practicality, the organizing of corpses in a limited space, but still the geometry of the graves disturbs me. Death for any cause, lost or won, is not quite so cut and dried as a cemetery layout."

We just got back from the casino. Frankie and I are about to make more pumpkin muffins from Shannen O'Lantern. I froze some.

Happy Thanksgiving! 🍂

Joanna Furnace Apple Festival

I was happily writing along about Joanna Furnace's Apple Festival until I mentioned some old geezer with a homemade Cabala Embarrass shirt, cap, and button. That's when my entire post vanished. Now I'm pissy. Yeah, I wanted to jump on her stupid commie head and beat her illiterate ass, but I did not. So, now, let me get back to my post that was rudely eaten by the fucking GOOGLE Monster. 😡 I had a ball. I had cider and apple fritters. We brought homemade pot pie and bean soup home. I also brought home some mead seltzer. I do not like mead, but the seltzer is tasty, and I got a mixed batch. Somehow I lost my box of Thanksgiving decorations. I don't have a lot, but Mummy's stuff from the bicentennial in Massachusetts is in there. Sure I'll find it while decorating for Christmas but until then I got this beautiful hand knitted scarecrow. I also got a handcarved Saint Francis, he's not Italian, so he might just be Pennsylvania made. I have a wooden Mary and Saint Patrick, but Francis is our long time saint of choice. I also scored a church doll from Mr. Glass who I'd gotten a lovely rag doll from a couple of Christmases ago. She always graces the foyer, too sweet to put away. Think we'll be seeing J.D. Vance at the airport later. Good times.

Thanksgiving Weekend

This autumn has ranked as one of the most fun ever. My brother and I went down to the creek where I found a load of Turkey Tail mushrooms for a friend. After getting home I made Davey Bird, here, looking dramatic, who Ron has claimed, but I'm working on Jack N. Oph for my brother, now. These are inspired by David Bird's Becorns. My Liverpudlian girlfriend turned me on to them. Today we went on the mine tour in the Lehigh Valley. I got an arrow head and a couple of new crystals in their fun gift shop, one is local quartz. The mining museum was full of amazing art and doll houses. Finally, we went to the Stampede BBQ. It was our first time, but I've had their homemade cider at Apple Fest at Joanna Furnace. I'm a huge fan, it's more the European sort, and my brother said their hand crafted old-fashioned ale was good too.
