Happy Everything!

Fat Tuesday is Chinese New Year, kicking off the year of the fire horse which happens every sixty years. It is also a Ring of Fire eclipse. Numerologically speaking, 2026 = year one. I wish there was a way of cleansing myself of asshole intelligence. I'm the real thing.

Dolls & Magic March Clearance

While I'm on a roll, (Thank You!), and saving for Gettysburg I've spent the last hour going through and slashing prices in my Ebay shop. You'll find mostly handmade, one-of-a-kind art dolls and original watercolor paintings, but there are also dolls and books from my collection, you never know. Will I be listing more stuff? Maybe. I've been typing Minie' Ball Catch All, I've made it to page sixty-six already. We had Anthony's Coal Fired Pizza today. It's good, but like everything else very exspensive. I've got to start a playlist for Frankie. It's hard to believe we've only had him five months. He came into our lives and took over. He's sleeping by my feet. He's very touchy feely, I'm not. I had made a playlist for Shiner on his last birthday, all of his favorite songs. TTYL...

Lancaster Doll Show

Fun as usual at The Lancaster Doll Show, although I didn't have a dime, I was one of the first door prize winners and chose this fabulous family of vintage gypsies that You can believe will be showing up to hound the cast of O, My Ra! The little Romanian girl, Nadja, on the far right, was not part of my prize. Suzie Blue Witch got her for me from the peasant's market at the foot of Castle Dracula, but looks like her mother, Magda, has found her. Penelope, the Greek, is my favorite, and is very heavy as if her trunk and legs are made of clay or something equally as heavy. The little Italian, Iverna, is from Florence. How lucky am I? I'll tell You. At Easter I'd scored a Little Red Riding Hood from around here, but although I'd spent hours scanning the internet, I could not find her match, a Frank Wright felt one came closest, as if she was a copy. Well, they had the same doll, there, in the exact same costume, same fabric, same body, same glass eyes, only a slender porcelain head, where mine is composition, I'd guess, and she is not only French but a SFBJ. I just knew that doll was special and old.  They also had some teensy Kestners like Dainty Bet's son, Willy, there, only not near as nice, and wanted four times what I scored him for. My Brooke Shields and Fred Astaire dolls were also there. I love those, especially my Fred, World Doll, from the eighties. Then, we saw loads of darling Canadian gosling. As many times as I've seen Canadian geese, I can't ever remember seeing so many wild gosling, and I'd adopted an orphaned Goosey Lucy as a girl, but Goosey was a lot bigger than these yellow babies. Good times!

Fred Astaire

Thanks to a friend I'd gotten another Fred Astaire doll. I'd sold the one I'd made who came with a sailor suit and pajamas. He had a wooden mannequin body with magnetic hands and feet for dance. I love my new one. He was made in New York City in the eighties for World Doll. He's not as pose-able, but tall and adorable. Oops, looks like his cumberbund has slipped.

Dreams 1/10

Dreamt I was living in a big new house with my ex. It was like a beach house, very sunny and bright: full of windows and painted white. I was very sick and could not get out of bed, but he kept on hounding me, said it was a surprise. He seemed very nervous that I would not get up. Finally, I got up, belligerent. I had a cap on my head and a dark patterned little nightie on with spaghetti straps. I had nothing to put on, so I pulled an original Princess Leia white gown over my nightdress, (you could see the nightie through the cheap costume fabric), and stumbled down the gleaming marble stairs. First, I saw a ton of helium balloons, all colors. There were all kinds of people in the courtyard. I didn't know any of them. There were carnival type games and picnic tables set-up. An older woman asked my guest if I would be able to pass around a cheese tray. I made a face, and she backed away. My ex sat me down and a young blonde comedian began to go through her short skit, it ended with a joke about a rich lady, she had a name for them, rich bitches, something beginning with a he, but I can't recall. I tried to smile. When she was finished I heard her bragging to another woman that she can't believe she was paid a hundred dollars for that. My ex was talking to me, now, trying to encourage me to have fun, I suppose. I told him I was sick and didn't even know any of these people.

Dreams 9/29

Dreamt I was in the bathroom in high school. Two boys followed me in, and the big dark one looked familiar, but the smaller, lighter, one did not. That one whispered in my ear about playing UNO because there was a lot of background noise. Told him I didn't play UNO, rather Spades and Hearts. They left. There was all kinds of writing on the floor in magic markers. The girl in the stall next to me said to another, "Hey, this says Marcella, like that Japanese fairy tale. It's not supposed to say that." The toilet was all wonky and off kilter. When I was leaving my blue scarf got caught on the bathroom door and snagged. After I'd come from the restroom the school suddenly became the refrigerated section of a super market, and my high school boyfriend was sitting at a desk, alone, bit there were four desks pushed together like for group work. His hair was better than I'd remembered. He asked if I wanted to pick the band for prom and he could DJ. I said, "What about a Dixie Land band, like jazz?" He said, "No". That's when I woke.
