Dreams 7/19

   7/19

Couple of long sweet dreams: the first starred a young Matthew Modine. I was even younger, junior high; Matthew was in high school. We were hiding out in different peoples’ houses. I would change and hide, then we’d move. It was odd, but not bad.

Frankie woke everybody up at 3:30, too early, so I snuggled between him and Arthur for the next four hours and had wonderful Christmas dreams. It began with Mummy and Daddy. I had bought some gifts from a shop, and they were delivered the next day in a big green shopping bag: a large crochet snowman and lots of wooden Christmas characters like nutcrackers and uniformed mice. Then Daddy and I walked the dog out back. There were piles of autumn leaves everywhere and a creek. He had a couple of poodle ornaments that I had made. He was picking at one, and I told him not to ruin the finish. I showed him a little toad that I had made out of puff balls hiding at the base of a tree. Then I was shopping with my work mates. It was really busy, I was checking out. I had bought three different little Christmas plants, Trump flags, and other things, all loaded into a brown shopping bag. The clerk, a friend, nearly forgot the Trump flags. Murphy, a friend from Denny’s, was there, putting things away into a cupboard. We were talking about old concerts we had been to. I told him that I had seen Motley Crue as a kid, and Wham! before George Michael had killed a girl. As I was leaving I was talking to the stock lady from the little market where I shop. She was showing me some basil buns in a plastic bag on a top shelf. I told her that I had them and liked them a lot.

Dreams 7/13

   7/13

Couple of dreams this morning in spite of the native DRUMS that bang out the same beat every Saturday: I awoke with my head banging in time. Frankie was going after the Vampire Lestat doll. First I dreamed about having tickets for a dog show. I woke up, that’s why I can’t remember much more.

The second dream was much more in depth and starred my brother. I had several enormous aquariums. One was separated three times. My brother noticed two male Bettas in the left hand portion. There was a little black girl, here, in the dining room with me. She had her hair pulled back into a curly ponytail and wore a yellow and white checked sundress. I had repotted a tree and had a big empty black tub full of soil. I put a yellow and white crocheted doily in it. The little girl was helping me water it with water in a plastic gasoline jug from the back garden. Meanwhile I had caught Julius, a stars and stripes Betta, in a mesh bag that also contained some dwarf frogs and green plants. I was looking for a place to put him, away from any other male Bettas, but was having a hard time. I had a lot of Bettas.

Dublin Doll Show

We heard about the Dublin Doll Show at The Letitia Penn Doll Club Christmas at The William Penn Inn. Ran into the lady from the club there. Yes, Countess Po' Ass would love to join their club, but The William Penn Inn is quite a haul. I got Penny, a big handmade prim, two autographed Creole Cats books, a beaded Indian chief, an antique baby bonnet, antique lace for my Jennie Wade dolls, and an antique doll recipe book for a grand total of thirty dollars. I got the adorable bromeliad from the Pearl S. Buck house for four dollars. We stopped at Peaceful Valley Park too. Then we had lunch at Country Place. It was a good time.

Potpourri and Fragrant Crafts

Ron had gotten me Betsy Williams's Are There Fairies in the Bottom of Your Garden? from the witch at The Green Dragon that he buys me incense and candles from. The fabulous crystal rock hound sells specimens directly across from her. I'd bought a beautiful twin crystal from him, but Ron had gotten me a cherry quartz jaspar wand from him as well as carved animals. I had read the darling little booklet to him on the way to The William Penn Inn, which is a bit of a haul. We were so impressed that our private Beltane celebration will be the best ever this year. I also went looking for more of Betsy's work. She's a real herbalist in a world of fakes. My Grandma had a bookshelf full of Reader's Digest books, they were all the rage back in the day when people were real. I have only just started this book, but I love it already. I am sure that it will bring me joy for years to come, not to mention the gifts from my garden and walks to my favorite Peeps.

Growing the Big One

For Shannen. Her mama was my favorite pumpkin ever. I turned her into a coach. She was too heavy to move. Now we have a beautiful daughter. Wonder if she'll get as big as her mother? O, My Ra! season two is set up and coming soon. I have a couple of other fun surprises too.

MaMa Pumpkin is New Again

While I'm cleaning out Vishnu's tank had to share the pumpkin at the front door. Last year Ron got me a big moonlight white pumpkin. It was too heavy for me to move, so she's been sitting by the front door between the holly all this time. It's been so hot that I have to water her. I've been using the water from the fishtanks. She's enormous. I had to drape her over the holly, otherwise we wouldn't be able to use the front door. My five dollar little market mums from last year and the morning glory that reseeds itself around the mailbox are also gigantic. Fishtank water is good stuff. I change their water once a week, about twenty-four cups. I have three small aquariums. I recycle it for my houseplants too. The Norfolk pine is stunning, and I had a bit of holly that I'd decked the halls with years ago that has to be transplanted outside as she has outgrown her pot.

More from Bonsai Bob

I thought the chandeliers were original to the three-hundred-and-twenty-something-year-old house, but no. They are from the house where Bob was born that they tore down long ago. The shop was a stop on the Underground Rail Road, but the God forsaken government wants to tear it down for the road. 😡 I left some homemade a'pizza for Bob. Ron also got me a burro's tail that I've wanted my entire life. I've named him Fabian since Bob opened for him, The Beach Boys, and The Yard Birds. There was one in Vincent Science Hall where we went to school. Annie and Jay got a couple of plants from Bob too as well as a couple of bags of his bonsai mix. God bless Bob Mutschler, what a treasure. 🎕

A'pizza

Took some a'pizza down to Annie and Jay. They had an Indian rope plant for me. That was my favorite plant that passed away with Daddy. Made some a'pizza for Bonsai Bob. Introducing him to Annie and Jay tomorrow. Fun times. 💕🍕💕

Everthing Old is New Again

I was up, working on a painting as a birthday gift for a friend, spring cleaning, drinking cider, and eating tater tots last night when I started fussing with my plants. I didn't start the jungle, it follows me like nightshade. Plants and floral arrangements were Mummy's big thing. She was very crafty. She would love the latest arrangement that began with a crystal candy container from Ron's mother. It likely was his grandmother's because I have crystal from my great-grandmother. I was inspired by an arrangement in the therapist's office in Six Feet Under. The rocks at the bottom for drainage are interesting bits: a crumble I found on the ground at Captain Hood's Tomb, and bits of blue quartz, coal, and ancient arrow heads, I imagine, from beneath the cairn across the street that they removed to build condos. The soil is Bob's Bonsai Mix from Mutschler's Rare Plants, which Ron sings to the like of Ballroom Blitz. It has twenty-eight ingredients from across the country, and is some good stuff. Pluto, the blue mystery snail's shell that Percival trapped himself in, is the only accent besides a connecting bit of branch that Ron brought me from the woodpile that resembles a cock, but the balls are buried. The prunings are: parlor palm from Ron's mother's funeral, (Annie and Jay got that), bamboo from Mordred's tank, (that was not doing well there; so, I moved it to another container left from the funeral, filled with bonsai mix, aquarium leftovers, and water that I rarely have to change as I set it up as a terrarium from a lady who wrote the book on watergardens when a fish chanel I follow on You Tube hosted her as a guest), vinca vine, red Anthurium, that I call Mr. Rourke flowers, from a big old plant, and some purple Celosia, which I'm not sure will take. I think I got that in New Hope. My fish like it. You can just see Merlin at the top of the photo, but Mordred, and even Julius can see it, too. I've not introduced you to Julius yet as I've only had him a couple of days, but he's eating. I got him a new house that looks Flintstonian, and he's gorgeous: pink, white, blue, green, yellow, and red, with black spots. He even has a beauty mark. Stay tuned. Happy May Day!

O, My Ghoul!

Totes 👍 for the new Venus! She's clawsome! $25 at Target and comes with loads of hexaccesories! If she's sold-out, wait, they'll get more. Stevie is getting scathing reviews at both Target and Wal-mart, and I've 👍 every one of them. Motherfucking hexed toy hacks obviously work for Mattel, Hell Mart, and Michael Oogie Booger's Target. How else do they have a hundred to sell? Reading how Hell Mart cancelled peoples' orders. 😠 No fucks for these hexed dull people.

Dreams 1/17

Dreamt I was at a greenhouse with Mummy and a lot of girls. Looked like a Girl Scouts meeting or something. I recall open air and rafters. We were at long wooden tables talking and working on something. Mummy told a young dark haired girl that Daddy and I used to be so close, but she should hear the things he says about me, now. Think that later I was waiting in a line, indoors. It was darker.

New Year Aquarium Tricks & Hacks

Greetings from Felix and Mars who have had their first winter's holiday with me. I spoiled them as best I could, and they're doing wonderfully. They especially appreciate Ultra Fresh Shrimp Delight BETTA PRO Shrimp Patties. I got a gift card for the pet store from Santa in my stocking that I've yet to use. I'd gotten Mars a little dolphin pot to sleep in which he loved but I'm going to have to say no to suction cups as it kept on falling down and scratched my acrylic tank. This really bothered me, and I'd been trying to figure how to remove the scratches with the fish in the tank. I was sort of thinking it could not be done, but I was wrong. First, I'd used a sponge designed for ceramic stove tops, thought that might work. It didn't. I got a four way nail buffer: even out, smooth, buff, and shine and a polishing cloth for skin at the dollar store: $2 total. That worked in a matter of minutes, and I'm very grateful and wanted to share. Also, I'm big into live plants, all sorts, and do not want any plastic plants in my tanks that could damage my beautiful fish. I do fertilize them, but found I was often replacing the plants in Mars' tank, especially, and aquarium plants aren't cheap: $15 a piece. Both my Bettas loved the tiny lily pads I'd been getting off of Amazon. They loved lounging and floating in them, even think they might've been nibbling at the Baby's Tears, but those only lasted a couple of weeks. They just seemed to dissolve and disintegrate. On a whim I'd first just added some little vines that I'd planted in some of my houseplant planters. They weren't doing well on their own. They are sort of like Vinca Vines. They float. This worked, somehow, and they've even rooted, so I decided to try some other houseplant cuttings in Mars' amphora. My houseplants can get out of hand and look like a jungle, so do need trimming. Both the Parlor Palm and Purple Passion worked, and I found Mars and Neptune, the catfish, in them often. I've seen those little plastic leaves with the suction cups that they call Betta Hammocks. They look a lot like Anthurium leaves, so I decided to try some of those as floaters too. They love them, especially Mars. He sleeps on them as if they were a bed. I had already been using the dried almond leaves. Another thing my fish love, especially Felix, is to see real flowers sitting outside along their tanks. I'd started this with Felix back in July when he wasn't feeling well, and continue to bring him flowers til this day.

Back with Bonsai Bob

Was so glad I'd baked Bob cookies, and we were so blessed with another jaunt to Mutschler's Rare Plants. I got a lovely succulent this time, I call her, Elsie. We got a gorgeous green Turkish lamp as you can see above the fireplace in the second photo. Also scored another bag of his awesome bonsai mix. My plants eat that up.

Dreams 10/25

Two nightmares this morning that I'd tried to forget. In the first Ron and I were here, but the place was loaded with plants, more of the aquatic variety. I was sick and lying naked on the dining room table when a gang of Mexicans broke in, both male and female. Ron had gone upstairs, and I was in the dining room with a woman. It was embarrassing because I didn't have any clothes. I mostly did forget the second which involved some vicious young white boys.
