Summer Dreams

   6/21

Let’s kick off summer with sweet sleep and dreams. Here, we go! First, I was with Ron’s cousin Katie and a blonde girl. We were going on a trip, and I was the driver. Our means of transport was an old brown gutted trailer. I was trying to put the driver’s seat just right. Katie and I were acting as if it was a bus. The seat was not riveted to the floor. We moved it against some screen windows as if I could drive it from there. There was no steering wheel.

The next dream was dark and epic enough for me to try to use it for DOC. It took place in a hotel in Gettysburg where I think Mummy and I worked. There were three guests, a pretty blonde woman and her tall handsome husband and a young Marine who was rather small with a buzz cut. The place was laid out like a grand ancient lodge. It was lit by lamplight with old wooden furnishings and taxidermied animals. The lobby had the red glow that often accompanies my dreams. The large intricately carved dark wooden check in counter was the center of the place, the rooms branched off in a circular pattern. There was a lounge directly in front of the counter covered in a white sheet with fancy throw pillows. The next morning the Marine was ill, faint. I helped him back to his bed and offered him breakfast. I felt very bad for him and wanted him to stay another night, telling him to call off work. The blonde woman was haunted as well. She laid on the white couch while her husband joined Mummy and I behind the counter. The couple were dressed old-fashioned. The woman wore a gorgeous long white ruffled, form fitting, cotton frock. Her husband wore a green velvet jacket with a rust colored brocade vest. He said that one of the taxidermied animals had come to life during the night, backing up his wife’s story about a haunting. I told him that the bear often came to life. The Marine was getting ready to check-out despite my wishes. I wanted to give him my contact information. I had old postcards and slips of embossed heavy brown paper in the pigeon holes of the counter or front desk. None of my ink pens worked so I had to resort to pencil stubs. I wrote down a phone number. I told him I hoped that it was the right one, but wasn’t sure. I gave him a postcard with a print of a woman in a white gown with a fan lounging on a boat. The card had a lacy white scalloped border. His coach awaited him outside.

Ron was my costar in the third dream. We were out, and I had my queen bee bag that Susan had gotten me on my right shoulder. It was full of stuff and very heavy. I had a pulled muscle along my left thigh, my groin. The combination of the two forced me to walk very slowly with a limp. We were on the edge of a busy highway, it was afternoon. A white cinder brick diner was across the street to our right. Our apartment building, which looked like an old fifties style motel, lay directly in front of us. I was trying to cross the street, but was having a very difficult time not getting hit by a car. I was crawling, as I moved faster than walking. I called to Ron. Across the street, in front of the diner, was a tall wooden shelving unit with scalloped woodwork. The top shelf belonged to Ron and me. I was decorating it seasonally with a leprechaun and a little doll. A young white man with dark hair, wearing a black rock band t-shirt, was put out with me. He wanted to put his advertising material on the shelf which was situated in front of the busy diner. A fat white man in a long sleeved white Yale t-shirt, (Yale was printed in blue, orange, and yellow bordered letters), was giving me a hard time. I responded with a shitty comment about Yale. I took some of the advertising materials. One of the magazines had Zak Bagans from Ghost Adventures on the cover, it was sealed in plastic. The vignette was black and orange. Zak had a skull or a candle, or both. I thought, oh brother, still, I placed it alongside my dolls, to the right, with a pile of white papers, the rest of the ads. The wind blew all of the advertisements away. Now I had to cross the street again, to our apartment. The lobby had windows and metal postboxes. The door to the main hallway had a metal handle and lock.

The final dream, which I nearly forgot, was of me making a video with Ron and my grown son. My hair was long, and I could see all of my dental fillings on the screen of my laptop. I looked like I was in my twenties, much too young to have a grown son. I wore a pink printed halter top. I had to adjust the camera. Our son had short blonde hair and a neat beard. He was a Marine and was talking about how much they had helped him with funding. I was not so sure about this, but kept my mouth shut.

WWII Weekend

Ike has been getting around this year. Ron and I also had fun as usual at WWII Weekend up the road at the airport, The Mid Atlantic Air Museum. I got some fabulous authentic WWII souvenirs too. The mermaid patch is a liberty cuff. They were inside the sailors' cuffs. When they were off duty they would roll their cuff up revealing the siren. I'm going to frame her and hang her on the wall. The bitty paratrooper is a German "pin". Children sold them to raise money for the soldiers' winter coats. I lost my yellow flower Ron got me from the French village, so he got me two more purple ones. I've got six now. Afterwards we watched one of my favorite films from 1945 Scarlet Street, starring Joan Bennett and Edward G. Robinson. I love those two. Then we went to a diner where I had disco fries. I had an orange float and a pretzel at WWII Weekend. Oh, I almost forgot the addition to my sticker collection. Schultz is another childhood favorite. Ron had got me the crochet grape doily there years ago, another thing I've admired since childhood. This is the first time we went after hours: much cooler and less crowded. Good times.

Lennox

I had taken Frankie's advice only to have forgotten my dream again- gone. It has been a while since I've blogged about my fish. The only good things about this past cruel summer after WWII Weekend were my books and my aquariums. I enjoyed a fabulous healthy happy time with them. We had gone to the Poconos Saturday to eat at The Waterwheel. When I got up that morning everybodies' favorite Paradise Betta the Tetra Killer was dead. He got put in a seashell and placed in the fish cemetery along with Felix and Mars. I moved Julius to his tank as he was outgrowing the frog tank. He seems happier with the three catfish: Oscar, Ector, and Govinda. Tattoo, the esmerald cory cat, in the frog tank is big. I'd been feeling sorry for him being the only cat there and considered moving Oscar back to his original frog tank. He's my oldest fish: I've had him for seventeen months. I expect him to live to be five like my cats I've had in the past. He's just too happy with his Glo cat friends for me to upset, so I got another esmerald for Tat, Rose. They are overjoyed, and it is very pleasing to watch. I had only gone to the pet store to get the catfish plus another Glow Light tetra for Shini. She schools with the neons and black neons in Merlin's cylindrical tank, but Vishnu had eaten her kin: Buddah, Lassit, and Atif before I moved her. I felt sorry for little Shini and picked up Garrish for her. I'm glad I did, and glow tetras are so much fun to watch whirling around a tall tank. I have been wanting a black Betta for a while. I only seem to see them when I don't have the room for them. That's how I got stuck with that murderous bitch Juno, my first and last female. Like Juno Lennox is a Black Orchid. He is small and young, so he fits well with the frogs and cats. I could not resist him. He's gorgeous. They had a White Opal male too. Some day I would like to have one.

Dreams 6/10

I've forgotten most of this long dream because it began shortly after I'd dropped off to sleep, I slept late, then had way too many distractions before writing it down. I know it concerned Gilmore Girls; I remember Lorelei, Rory, and I think, at least, Lorelei's mother, Emily. I cannot recall the details: too late.

Mehitable goes to the Beach

We rounded out our WWII Weekend with a trip to the beach. It was just Blue Marsh Lake up the road, but Mehitable had fun. ⛱ I brought a couple of books and nearly finished the Betta book anyways. It says Bettas live longer and are more colorful if you feed them live bugs once a week. I might try. I had moved Krishna, the African Dwarf Frog, to Julius's and Tattoo's little tank because he was always hiding underneath the bush from Vishnu who did eat Buddah, Atif, and Lassit, the Glowlight Tetras. I had been trying to feed Krishna a variety of foods: algae wafers, daphnia, mysis, bloodworms, and flakes but I had yet to see him eat even if I put a wafer up to his face. I went to the pet store and got him a girlfriend, Diana, she's pinker and whiter than the brown Krishna, and she's slenderer. The girl there introduced me to Dwarf Frog Pellets. They sink, and you feed each frog five to ten tiny pellets a day. As soon as I dropped them in I noticed him foraging straight away, plus, Tattoo, the emerald Cory Cat, loves them, so I gave some to Neptune, Ector, and Shiva who are now with Vishnu. Even though they're different species they still school together. I thought Neptune was peppered and Shiva was a panda because she has a mask, but they might be male and female. They're always cuddling. I'm going to have to look into it. Like them, Shini, the only remaining Glowlight, schools with Tom, Tom, Nimue, and Morgana, the Neon and Black Neon Tetras. Merlin chases them round the cylindrical tank. I think they're playing, Tom and Tom are a year old, but Jack N Oph and Ron say otherwise. Merlin has had four months to kill them if he wanted, but the fatter Tom does seem to have a red spot that I don't remember. It's possibly a Merlin nibble.

WWII Weekend

Ron ate Jack N Oph's corn. What a hog. 😠

WWII Weekend, Reading

Merry Pissmas!

Why Pissmas? Shiner is seventeen, so I say, Welcome to Piss Pad Land! My baby brother, aka, Jack N Oph from fakebook gaol, has come to visit for WWII Weekend. He's got a gig with Weedeater, (I think). I made cookies and a'pizza. He hasn't been here since Ron was throwing biscuits at Thanksgiving, so he had a stack of gifts including Cheech and Chong-opoly. Ron crushed us. I was Chong and was out first. It's more fun than Monopoly.

WWII Weekend II

Afterwards we went off to the casino where Glenn and I broke even and had a real good time, so you can't beat that.

WWII Weekend: Reading I

My brother joined Ike, Ron, and me for WWII Weekend this year. He had a blast and got to fly in a fighter plane. I got a lot of good pictures, so I'll continue this post with a link to my locals spot where I can post more pictures. I got a nice Black Widow plane tack pin, another paper flower to match my dress, and an Eisenhower bronze bookmark that was made in the USA. Also had fried pickles and lemonade.
