Dreams 8/26

 8/26

This dream starred the actress Anna Kendrick and Bobby, one of my grade school friends. We were interviewing to teach at a small complex that consisted of three schools. The oldest was also the smallest, constructed of stone; it might’ve started as a church. The other two were more recent, probably from the fifties and sixties, and made of brick. The three were huddled together. The room where we were interviewing was nearby, but not in any of the three schools. Anna thought that the oldest stone building was really posh and historic, I agreed. I had a big wedding portfolio with a couple of homemade linen calla lilies tied together with a bow. The artist’s, Lois, business card was affixed to the inside back cover. I think we all got the job because I was sitting in the passenger seat of Bobby’s car. He said that we should have a celebratory drink, something feminine like white wine, and I laughed and said that the occasion called for whiskey, brandy, or scotch. There was a garden party at night, and Anne Rice was the entertainment. She was dressed half naked like Cher. Her long cone plastic skirt was transparent, and she wore white hot pants beneath her matching bandeau top. Young and slim, her hair was cut into a bob. Her song was atrocious. Everybody agreed, just awful. Was it French? I don’t know, but it was bad. I was setting up my classroom, both Anna and Bobby were there. There was a paper flower hanging by the clock. That’s when I woke up. It wasn’t a bad dream.

Summer Harvest

There are as many little ones still on the vine in both the front and backyard. The fish tank water has produced some monsters, twice as big as any you ever see at the grocery store. This is only my second big gourd harvest ever. I don't know why I don't get them every year. I don't think there are any pumpkins or squash this year either, just gourds. Some of them are so big that I thought they were yellow and spaghetti squash, but they aren't.

Dreams 7/13

   7/13

Couple of dreams this morning in spite of the native DRUMS that bang out the same beat every Saturday: I awoke with my head banging in time. Frankie was going after the Vampire Lestat doll. First I dreamed about having tickets for a dog show. I woke up, that’s why I can’t remember much more.

The second dream was much more in depth and starred my brother. I had several enormous aquariums. One was separated three times. My brother noticed two male Bettas in the left hand portion. There was a little black girl, here, in the dining room with me. She had her hair pulled back into a curly ponytail and wore a yellow and white checked sundress. I had repotted a tree and had a big empty black tub full of soil. I put a yellow and white crocheted doily in it. The little girl was helping me water it with water in a plastic gasoline jug from the back garden. Meanwhile I had caught Julius, a stars and stripes Betta, in a mesh bag that also contained some dwarf frogs and green plants. I was looking for a place to put him, away from any other male Bettas, but was having a hard time. I had a lot of Bettas.

A Peony for Lennox

Lennox gets the first peony because he is getting medicated for his third bout of Ick. He'll be alright. I catch it very fast with him because he is so black. He had two white spots on his face yesterday afternoon. They are gone, but he will still get two more treatments and a water change on Monday. I love Lennox. Julius says hello too. 💮

Beautiful Betta

I'm starting another book, Beautiful Betta, it's not going to be just a picture book; I'll share my forty years of experience with them. I realize I'm working on too many things at once and have to focus to finish, but I'm moody and work well with chaos.

Frankie's New Fang Out

Sir Frankie Crisp loves his new fang out. He hits the pom poms like punching bags and plays the scratching post like a washboard. He basks in the hammock. He says thanks, Dad! Ron took me back to That Pet Place. I got a moss ball for Lennox too who has made a bubble nest. I had to move Uncle Otto, the Otocinclus, to his tank because it has developed some algae. Things are nearly back to normal after my Gettysburg trip. You'd think that I was gone for two weeks.
