Crystal Cave & The Ghost & Mrs. Muir

I spend ten percent of my pay in Crystal Cave's fabulous souvenir shop. Glad to finally get a discount. I got this beautiful crystal today along with a beaded cicada that hangs from my rear-view mirror, and a Crystal Cave sticker for Mehitable's, my travel doll, trunk. Mehitable hasn't been there yet, but soon. I'll get pictures. I also picked up more flowers from the seller along the way, coleus for Shiner's grave and an enormous purple petunia hanging basket for the back porch. Kirsten, the girl in the souvenir shop, told me that the lady who sells them has a son who used to work at the cave. I dressed my Gene doll in her new costume, Love's Ghost, based on The Ghost and Mrs. Muir. I love that book, film, and series. My Gene, Daughter of the Nile, was an old valentine, so these duds suit her. I've never changed her clothes. I sold my other two but still have the trunk and lots of outfits. I'll probably score her some more. I stopped caring for her "creator", Mel Odom, years ago when I saw his commie fakebook posts and how he'd prefer The Pony Hexpress to Space Camp. Spare me.

Purple Witch's Crystal Ball

It's official, I'm a certified tour guide at Crystal Cave. Purple Witch got her crystal ball. I dreamed that we were having supper in the cave the night before my first day. She told me, "See you tomorrow". I saw a totes Scooby Doo ghost during my first "lights out" that day. I've not seen the likes of that since. That's the good news, 'witch is very good. Now, for the bad, anybody that knows me knows that I'm only an alright witch, neither good or bad. I'm having a hell of a time verifying my identity on Amazon. I'm getting to the point that I'm going to have to hex them like Hershey's and Mattel. It's not my fault. 😠

Red Witch's Ram

Red Witch got her smiling pet, Cernunnos, from Crystal Cave. Hopefully Purple Witch will be scoring a new amethyst crystal ball soon. Trying to verify my identity on Amazon is a lot harder than pulling teeth. Spare me! Same difference as adopting from a shelter. Planet SCAM! 😠

Himalya Quartz

A crystal junkie, some of my favorites have come from India. I recently discovered Himalya Quartz on Ebay and ordered the top pink and green one last week. It's already here in the states. I'm used to packages from India taking a month. I could not resist the bottom citrine and just ordered it. I'm sure I'll be getting more crystals from the seller. They are some of the most beautiful crystals I've ever seen. I got three new ones in Gettysburg in April and two from The Crystal Cave a couple of weeks ago. I'm sure my friends will be thrilled because like dolls, I share crystals too. Makes me want another Himstedt, the boy from Nepal. I had friends from Nepal in college that Dame Darcy knows about, Vic and Nick. They were way cooler than Dusty and Rusty the Mormons. 🤣🤣

Crazy Dreaming

  2/2

Lots of dreaming after finally falling asleep on the couch and moving upstairs with the dolls. First I was with my childhood friend, Kelly Casey, only we were now adults. It took place in a large convention area in downtown Pittsburgh during the day. After class, or whatever we were there for, we moved to a small cafeteria space with a counter for lunch. Kelly got a red paper carton of milk and a plastic cup of tapioca pudding. I got a can of Diet Coke. We were talking about milk, and how I did not drink it as a child. Afterwards we walked outside where there was a mound of crystals surrounding a small cavern. There was a yellow triad quartz at the top of the mound. A fat blonde, who was with her boyfriend, broke the citrine off and stole it. I also had a chunk of quartz with gray, green, and fuchsia dripping colors like candle wax, very shiny. I’m not sure if we were at ground level, outside, or on the rooftop. There were clusters of bronze and concrete statues all around including one of Zeus on his knees. We passed a black obsidian ziggurat on the right. It was about seven feet high and narrow like a Victorian feather Christmas tree, very intricately carved. There were two metal caskets with padlocks on the ground. A woman told us that a wife had locked her husband’s bones within them. Now we walked beyond to a fair. There were lots of crystal geodes for sale on long white clothed tables.

Now I was in class and about to present a book I had written and covered. When it was my turn I realized that it was not the book that I wanted to present. It was a big square shape with a black snakeskin type of cover. The title, something like, Lucid, but not quite, was affixed in a mosaic of sequins. Inside were only copies on heavy magazine paper of old black pen script on burnt parchment. The other book had a fabric cover and is an old puppet show script for Cannery Row that I had helped my students with. I still have it. The fabric looks like the sea or an oil spill, greens and blues. I was thinking that I did not want to present either of those books, rather maybe my paperback Selected Poems because The Three Witches Magic Shoppe Adventures in Doll Land and Fanging with Claude were much too long. I discussed it with my teacher, a woman in her forties with short blonde hair, and she seemed irritated. She was not happy with my choices, wanting me to present Lucid. She got kind of shitty and told me to find my book or clean my house.

Finally it was Christmas at Grandma Andres’s house, only the house was different. I was trying to film two episodes of my dollhouse soap operas, one in The Magic Shoppe and the other in a tall three storey dollhouse. It had a pink plastic staircase that I had to snap back into place at the top. One of Aunt Nancy’s Dawn dolls, Jessica, with the blonde braids, stood there wearing a long faux fur trimmed white coat. I had filmed the first episode then decidedly fixed a brown clay pony, still soft, and wanted to reshoot. I was working on the lighting. Daddy came and wanted me to come through the Cornwall tunnel with him. My Aunt Janet and Grandma were holding up production somehow. I told Grandma that every girl could have a palm sized Cindy doll that I had made. They had blonde bobbed hair and were dressed in white cotton nightgowns. They were seated in the bottom of the tall house, and I was wondering if I had enough. I think there were five of them. I was about to give up filming as there was too much distraction when I woke up.

Dana's Dreams

Dana's Dreams is now available in hardback. I have no idea why I cannot seem to publish it as an ebook. I've tried pdf and epub, neither work. Oh, hex. It's been available since summer as a paperback. Dana's Dreams Two is in the works.

Although Frankie and I still have a couple of lectures to finish of Mystery Teachings we skipped ahead two seasons to watch Astral Projection, Dreams, Crystals, How to Develop Your Subtle Senses, and Ascension, those were ones I could not miss. I really love the teacher, she's fab.

Potpourri and Fragrant Crafts

Ron had gotten me Betsy Williams's Are There Fairies in the Bottom of Your Garden? from the witch at The Green Dragon that he buys me incense and candles from. The fabulous crystal rock hound sells specimens directly across from her. I'd bought a beautiful twin crystal from him, but Ron had gotten me a cherry quartz jaspar wand from him as well as carved animals. I had read the darling little booklet to him on the way to The William Penn Inn, which is a bit of a haul. We were so impressed that our private Beltane celebration will be the best ever this year. I also went looking for more of Betsy's work. She's a real herbalist in a world of fakes. My Grandma had a bookshelf full of Reader's Digest books, they were all the rage back in the day when people were real. I have only just started this book, but I love it already. I am sure that it will bring me joy for years to come, not to mention the gifts from my garden and walks to my favorite Peeps.

Ten Days

I dreamed of a woman and an apartment, but I was too tired to scribble down details that have been forgotten. The last ten days have felt like a couple of months. I've always had strange relatations with time and money. I've never given them the attention. Honestly, I don't really believe in either of them. They are both man made concepts designed to keep me in line. I prefer to whirl in circles. It's a good thing too because I'm still not allowed to eat or sleep. Sir Frankie Crisp looks wild, but he's only yawning. I have yet to hear him growl or hiss. He purrs incessantly. This morning he was at my desk trying to fish my pendulum from the velvet bag. I was tired so shut him out like I used to do to Shiner when he would attack me for moving. Then I heard a pounding at my door, not a scratching, not a rapping, a pounding. When I got up the metal bathtub plug was outside my door. He was using it as a knocker. He is up to three meals a day now plus treats. I will not let him get fat, but I think he has grown in the four days we've had him. Sympathy and I are not friends. Mummy called me cold hearted, but sympathy only ever made me feel worse. I do appreciate the cards though. All the LOVE from the bottom of my cold black broken heart.

Dreams 10/10

I had three dreams, but the third has been lost to the ether. First, I was working in a department store with a tall blonde woman and two dark haired guys. We were wearing blue smocks. I was standing on a strange wooden stand that was something between a church pew and a music stand. The blonde was standing next to me. We were looking for something. I was on the ground and picked up a large polyglot crystal. It might've been rainbow or peacock obsidian. It was midnight blue with iridescent hues and shone like glass. I wanted it, I think, and asked one of the men the price. I think it was around seventy-nine dollars which wasn't bad considering the size and weight of it.

Next I was in something like Mummy's kitchen but it was different. Theresa and a boy were with me as well as Johnny ferret. There was a mossy little hole, very soft and green. I had stepped away for a minute and Johnny had vanished down the hole. I was upset with Theresa for allowing it to happen. I was looking for Johnny and calling him. Ron came in and asked what I was looking for. I told him Johnny ferret, and he asked what a ferret was. I explained to him that it was something like a weasel. Then, I noticed it was not a hole at all rather a pipe and that Johnny never could have fit through it. I found Johnny, was very grateful, and was holding and snuggling him. Wish I could remember the third dream, it wasn't bad.

Dreams 5/23

I'd forgotten to document my dreams, working on The Three Witches Magic Shoppe, so we'll see what I remember. First, I was shopping with Mummy at a flea market with lots of sparkling sequined dolls. There were puppets too. I don't think I had a lot of money on me. The second dream took place in Gettysburg in a metaphysical shop and cave. My girlfriend, Amber, from high school, was there. There were lots of crystals in the shop in little paper velvet lined display boxes, all laid out on table tops. I'd stolen a crystal, felt guilty, and put it back. Amber's hair was gray and piled up on her head like a Gibson girl. She was lagging behind in the cave.

Dreams 2/28

The dreaming began in Mummy's kitchen. I was eating Jolly Time popcorn and reading Daddy's paperback book, The Most Dangerous Game. It was fat with a playing card, the queen of spades, on the glossy black cover. A blonde woman was there pouring Poppycock into a bowl, talking about the nuts and work. I went up to Mummy's room and was reading a typed letter from a friend to her that said that Becky Dowling now lived in Ottawa.

In the next dream I was part of a group at a crystal convention or show. I was with another girl, checking out a man's booth. He was sitting there, and the girl was taking her time looking over a tiered collection. I could see a couple plastic mermaids with curled tails that I handled and returned to the top tier. I had a small pack of laminated cards in the palm of my hand. When the girl was finally done looking the keeper got up said, "That's enough.", and closed the display, folded it up like a ladder, and returned it to a case behind the counter. I told him I didn't get a chance to look at it, but he didn't care. I looked over the rest of his goods and the little pack of cards that had photos of capybaras on them and put them back. I continued to browse through the many vendors with big crystals and red hematite points, but didn't see anything I wanted. One of the sellers told me that the salty man had things stolen from him.

Finally, I walked past Ron's study. He was sitting at his desk and had something dark running down the temple of the left side of his head. He asked me to leave so he could cry.
