The Victoria & Albert Museum Shop

Oh, I want everything here. Can't believe I missed it for a toy museum when I was in London. At least I can still shop there. It looks fantastic for gifts and stocking stuffers. Most of the souvenirs that I brought home for people did come from the museums or castles.

Swallowed Alive by the Dolls

4/1

Frankie slept curled up behind me. It is lucky for me that he didn’t eat my epic nightmare that is, for sure, a favorite. It took place in the old house in Oakland, as dreams often do. That place is still trying to suck me back. Annie was there, as well as my ex, Paul. We were having a movie night. It was dark, and the room was open. Annie was sitting on a shelf on the right hand side. I had brought snacks, ready for the film, when Annie asked if she could have a cup of tea. I went into the kitchen to find a teacup. It was a big chunky antique red, white, and blue teapot. As I washed it in the stainless steel sink three tiny dolphins, no bigger than minnows, swirled at the bottom before disappearing down the drain. When I say dolphins, I mean, the antique decorative sort found in Italian fountains, lamps, and old maps, with big bulging eyes, and top fin skull caps. They were dark gray, very slick. When I brought Annie’s tea to her I passed an open green swamp with an alligator and small dinosaur rising out from the duckweed. Annie was not impressed with her tea. She chatted with Paul about how Jay liked fat chicks. There were others watching the film; I watched some of them ascend the stairs to the left and followed. Upstairs was brighter and very Victorian. There were dolls everywhere, and more coming in. Mostly they looked like turn of the century German china head dolls, but there were milliner’s models, and mannikins, all sizes, some bigger than me. Some were wooden. They were all dressed like Victorians. The ladies wore long gowns with full skirts, fitted waists, and puffed sleeves. The gentlemen had slicked black hair, mustaches, and wore black tuxedos. What’s more, they were alive. They did not move very fast, nor did they seem very smart, but they were all moving, and the group continued to grow. I told them that they should not be up there and had to go. They ignored me. They knew that I was there, they were defying me. I started yelling at them, feeling pretty stupid, but there were so many that I was alarmed. Still, nothing. That’s when I started to push them, then hit them. When that didn’t work I began to hit them in the head, hard, with whatever I could grab as a weapon, intending to knock their heads off. I did not care that they were antiques. One of the ladies finally spoke, telling me that I wasn’t very Christian. They all were piled up on top of me by the end. I did not care, I gave up. I was swallowed alive by the dolls.

Penpals (England)

Very nice parcel from Liverpool today. I have the best penpals, always have. Just now I need a nap, the weather change makes me sleepy, won't need the tea just yet...

Watermelon Lime Tea

This makes nice iced tea, just add Splenda. It's refreshing and different. It was also under two dollars at the little market, so I'm going to have to get more. I'm picky about tea, especially iced. I don't like it syrupy or sickeningly sweet.

A Tea Witch's Grimoire

This is a wonderful little book, so glad I got it. Planning on making purification and astral travel teas first, but I want to concoct teas for Autumn Equinox, Samhain, and Winter Solstice. Also want to make Aries, Gemini, and Leo teas as homemade gifts. Plus, there are potions, and I want to try the healing and money potions with ingredients like whiskey and moonshine. Ignore the dumb critics as usual. Grab this one.

Dreams 6/27

Dreamt that I was at a big old establishment in England for an antiques auction and tea. My parents, brother, and friend, Janey, was there. My family was nestled in a dark little booth on the right side of the room, beneath a little paned window. There was a rose print cotton table cloth, and the table was set with antique china dishes for tea. There was another man, middle aged, with a brown beard, who was sitting across from them in the middle of the room at a table set the same. He was situated in front of a tall glass case, crammed with antiques of all types. Janey was across the way, on stage, giving a welcoming sort of speech to a small but crowded auditorium. Somehow word got out that things not meant for sale would be auctioned. Mummy got angry and my family left in a huff. I was trying to comfort and convince the bearded man that his belongings were safe when Janey came from the stage and took a little cave diorama in a terrarium type of glass dome from the case telling me it wasn't for sale. It was her's. It looked as if it was constructed of stones and gems and set with tiny silk plants.

Dreams 6/17

Dreamt I was here, in the kitchen. Ron and my brother were in the den. I was making supper which was a kind of smorgasbord of leftovers like chicken and pizza. I was trying to doctor up the chicken breasts, dipping them in egg and dusting them with breadcrumbs.
