Frankie and I have been up all night baking. Shiner was my supervisor, but Frankie is worse. He eats about anything. He loves oysters and clams. We are using my Early American Cookbook this year. Christmas has been catproofed, so we're keeping it simple. We made simple butter cookies with a glaze: Yeti, Anne and Andy, unicorns, elephants, and ducks. I'd had one at Cornwall Furnace, a moose, and it was so good, better than mine. Cornwall has Christmas cookies, tea, and cocoa around their Christmas tree once a year. Next stop molasses and ginger snaps. My dear friend sent me Necronomnomnom, and I can hardly wait to get to that. Oh, my ghoul. I have a handmade Lovecraft doll and have yet to finish the complete works, which is huge. I've been sending offers out on Ebay for Collinwood, asking them to save it from the Leviathan, (Frankie). He's been checking into The Collins Port Inn for Christmas. Guess I have to move that too. 🌟

Elders Cut Meadery
Love bees, love honey, didn't think I liked mead. Have tried Rebel Hive again and again. Sorry, but no doctoring, and I'm crafty as fuck, can make me like it. I like this stuff! I tried it at Joanna Furnace's Apple Festival last year, I believe it was raspberry, and I'm no huge fan of raspberries, I'm more a mulberry elderberry girl, but it was good. Yesterday I scored a mixed four pack: cider, orange, raspberry, and lemon. The cider is tasty and so is the orange. I'm a fan. Want the lime. I know the farmers markets and super markets sell Rebel Hive. I'm going to have to look for this or order online: Elders Cut Meadery 🐝🍯🐝

Easter at The Farnsworth House
Had another wonderful Easter at The Farnsworth House in Gettysburg. They had a fabulous buffet set-up in the main dining room. I have only eaten breakfast there, I usually eat in the pub. I like the peanut soup. Had an Easter drink made with elderflower liquor. I'm going to have to get some of that, I love it. The first martini I had in my life was made with that and pear. I love elderberry jelly too. They had a full salad bar, soup, and everything else. I ate: coleslaw, hot macaroni salad, scalloped potatoes, sweet potatoes, brussel sprouts, peppers, and a chocolate chip cookie. Everything was good even if I don't like sweet potatoes, these were real fluffy. Got to see my room where I'll be staying, Jeremy's Room. I've never stayed there before, only The Sarah Black room and The Mcfarlane room a couple of times over. Our server told me to bring some toys for Jeremy. He was hit by a carriage in the street and brought to that room where he passed away. I've got three authentic Civil War soldiers, General Lee, Reynolds, and an artillery man from Joanna's Furnace. My great-great-grandfather was a Yankee artillery man who survived, which was rare. I've got his fife. Reynolds was from Lancaster and died on the first day of battle. They took his body to the old-fashioned picture place where my Best Witches and I got our pictures taken as loose women with a Rebel officer. I've already gotten them and other things together for Jeremy. This room has been called one of the most haunted rooms in America. We'll see. My server was asking if I'd had any experiences in the house. I heard whistling in the bathroom of The Sarah Black Room, and there was a little dark cloud hovering over the bed. In The McFarlane room things shake and move, but the house sits right on a road where trucks pass and has old windows. I was surprised the darling bookstore was open and having a forty percent off sale. Ron got me Battlefield - Farming a Civil War Battleground by a city slicker who bought a farm in Virginia in the eighties. It looks fascinating. He also got me a Susan Boulet Isis and Osiris bookmark to go with it. We walked around the cemetery and drove along the battlefields. A lot has changed since I've been there, maybe eight years ago. Looks like CONVID killed stuff there too. The History Store is gone, which shocked me. I used to get loads of stuff there for my students and thought to take my Gettysburg board game that I dreamt of there, first. Even The Gingerbread House that had been there since I first went to Gettysburg thirty years ago is now called Eddie's. If the commies have their way it's all going to be a strip mall like down south. No doubt. Can't wait to return. It's pretty much a straight shot down 30 from here.

Dreams 1/13
Dreamt that Mummy and I passed a very posh bar. It was dark with red ambient lighting. I stopped off for a cider. Will, the good-looking old bartender from Margaritaville, was the keep. I was waiting and waiting for my cider that never came. I told Mummy. Now, I had a date. He looked a lot like Jamie from The Sinner, season three, or a boy, Jonathan, I knew from college. When it came time to leave he wanted to come along, but I wouldn't let him.

The Poconos
I've been having way too much fun for one person all autumn. Don't know how I got so lucky. Ron had met with an old friend who tipped him off about his brother's cafe, so wanted to visit the Poconos. I'd never been there, so had no idea what I was in for. First, we visited Grey Towers, a smasher Pennsylvania blue stone Victorian complete with a burial ground. The Water Wheel is located literally within an old mill and surrounded by fun antique and other shops. I had a delicious noodle soup and good cider. It was a fabulous time all round.

Watermelon Lime Tea
This makes nice iced tea, just add Splenda. It's refreshing and different. It was also under two dollars at the little market, so I'm going to have to get more. I'm picky about tea, especially iced. I don't like it syrupy or sickeningly sweet.

Dreams 9/12
Dreamt that I had a big Chinese looking take-out box of some kind of ready to make food. Not sure if it was pasta or cereal. The box was rectangular, but gathered up to a hexangular top. The printing around it was black and gold with some sort of little character, maybe a panda. I had to insert the package into my fish tank in order to prepare it. When I did my tank overflowed, and an albino cory catfish was beheaded in the process, sliced clean through, which caused me great stress; so I removed the food stuff, which was now coming out from the top, in a rush, looking for the catfish. He was there, in the bottom of the aquarium, fine, but there was still, also a severed head. Dreamt, too, that my clay pot was full of buds.
