Arthur & the Doll Show Score

There is Franz! I was so surprised to see him! That's Doll Magic, meant to be. I hope the same happens with Marie, a Monica doll that has surfaced that I've wanted for thirty years. Shop my original DARK SHADOWS art, support my doll habit. Ronnie's suit is soaking in cold water and Woolite. He's a little bigger than Ike, he's Horsman where Ike is Efanbee. I think Efanbees are a bit better quality. There were great deals to be had at this huge show: fabulous! We ate at The Bluebird Inn in Cornwall afterwards, another favorite spot. I had a Buddah bowl to make up for the pizza I shared with Frankie and Arthur for breakfast. I love my Little Dancer paper dolls. I had them when I was three. Sometimes Ron is too good for me. ✨

Over the Moon

Absolutely over the moon with my new Himstedt, Tilly, from 2003. I know, I said my third 2005, the Egyptian, was my last, but I'm back to a proper coven of Himmies and want the Nepalese boy now too. Himstedts are never a disappointment. They had some late Summer and Winter Kinder at The Doll Outlet, so I got to see them in person. I thought they'd be bigger like the Atlanteans. Tilly is perfect, not too big or small. I got her NRFB thanks to getting outbid on another and selling a Cissy, aka Doll Magic. *Thank You, Grandma, Aunt Tilly, and Mummy!* I've sold seventeen dolls in the last ninety days, all sorts, and bought five, so I'm getting better. I usually sell one and buy two. Two are big Himstedts though. The Corpse Bride is on the way. I only spent a dollar more than The Mattel Shop because she is coming to Amazon in September like Beetlejuice and Elvira. Hope the toy hacks lose their shirts. Frankie says forget Tilly, he loves the box. Stay tuned, I'm having my coffee but just got some adorable shots of Arthur. He is so sweet. TTYL...

Lotus

I got Lotus, who ought to be my last Himstedt. I'm back up to a dozen with one for sale. I've sold two. Lotus is my third Child of the World from 2005, I also have Ginger, (Maniloa), the Hawaiian, and Gypsy, (Munira), the Sinti Gypsy. Lotus, (Kida), is the Egyptian. I love vintage Health Tex clothes. As much as I love the dolls from this year I like dressing them in vintage and antique clothing. I do not like the samey samey outfits from The World Children Summit. Looks like they got a steal on some cotton. I sold my two German Play Street girls from 2004 to finance trips to Gettysburg. I did not need three German girls. I still have my original Tara. Anyway, I got Lotus from The Dolly Mama on Ebay. If you are a doll collector, I'd check her out. I love Lotus. I've got a huge mess to clean up, Monster High, (don't know when I'll get to finish O, My Ra!), supper, and more. TTYL...

Baby New Year

When we were at the William Penn there was a big K & R baby as a prize which made me want an antique baby doll. I have a lot of German antique dolls, but they are all either girls or ladies, no babies. I do have some contemporary babies including a huge Rustie that Mummy brought me back from Florida while visiting a mutual friend and a Christening baby, but Kitty is my first antique. She's the same big chunky size as the flirty eyed one I'd seen at the doll club event, but she's older and prettier, more baby-like. She's an ABG, and I might have one of their chinaheads but none other. She had a bit of crazing to one leg and was missing some fingers all of which I remedied. Skinny dip satin spray paint and a buff fixes old doll bodies right up. I mended Mummy's Ideal bride doll this way, and I had thought I'd have to paint her green and start over, she was that bad. Polymer fingers can be painted with it too and glued right in place, so you'll really have to look to find the mend. She was naked, but now she wears my old baby dress and shoes. The cap and coat were Ron's mother's from the twenties. Ron and his brothers wore them too. Frankie and I are up to episode fourteen of forty-eight of The Great Courses, Ancient Egypt. The professor is from Long Island, and we are really enjoying it. We only have through Sunday to finish them, so I'll chat later, but I had to share Kitty.

Annette Himstedt's Morgana

Weeding through my fab collection again, Christmas will be here before you know it, and I haven't started shopping yet. I'm usually done by now, early bird. Will be listing a little collection next with Pullips.  Get Morgana

Liri by Annette Himstedt for Sale

Selling beautiful Liri to pay for my next trip to Gettysburg. Sold her sister, Pauline, to pay for the last. Decided I didn't need a coven of Himmies much less three German girls. She's from the 2004 Play Street line.

Dreams 1/16

Dreamt I'd gotten a new old Himstedt doll. She was an Asian, similar to Shireem, but taller and thinner, more like An Mei. She wasn't either of them, though. Her hair was shorter, like Shireem, and she had a velveteen body. She was naked. She came along with a case, something like an old plastic sewing machine tote. When I opened it I was surprised to find a doll house, just like The Magic Shoppe in every aspect including a Vlad doll, only smaller. There was also a jumble of things in the bottom like a square gold locket and a pair of crystal earrings like you'd get at Claire's Boutique as well as a beaded top for the doll. I went into the den to show Ron.

In the next dream Ron and I went to the mall for a Christmas craft show. It was strange: dark and all the shops were closed. A lot of the craft tables were covered with sheets. There were scores of school aged kids there as if on field trips. After walking around for a bit Ron went home, but said I could stay. There was a woman with stuffed polar bears wearing big pine cones, red berries, and sprays of winter greens like helmets. She was using one like a puppet trying to sell me. Soon I became lost. I couldn't find the shops that I knew were by the entrance where I came in. A woman put a tiny red plastic circle, big as a link on a chain or a pen top, in the bottom seam on the back of my jacket. She said something like, "for safety, in case you become lost." I had met with a blonde young man and was coming out from behind a sheet when I woke.
