Poldark

I had watched the seventies series when we had free Britbox, and I was hooked. Finishing up the first season from 2015. In a lot of ways it's better, more epic and sweeping. But, like all the old PBS, it lacks the on location charm of the original. All the acting is superb. I got the first book, Ross Poldark, from 1945 by Winston Graham. It's a darling little hardback, Ron wants me to read it to him. We better start soon because DOC is on the way, and I read Ron all of my books. While proof reading I read outloud a lot, so he hears some of it as I go. I'm one of those writers that reads over and over again, compulsively. DOC is by far my best work as far as writing goes. We've also The Complete Poodle from 1951 to get to that looks fabulous. I love dog books. Jack London was one of my favorite writers as a kid. I'd read all of his books and bawl. I don't read sad dog books anymore. Sir Arthur Conan Doyle was a huge hit at the vet today. The vet said he was wonderful. The vet 💓 Sherlock Holmes and Poldark too. Both Arthur and Sir Frankie Crisp came along with their names. Countess Po' Ass just knighted them. TTYL... ✨

Dreams 7/19

   7/19

Couple of long sweet dreams: the first starred a young Matthew Modine. I was even younger, junior high; Matthew was in high school. We were hiding out in different peoples’ houses. I would change and hide, then we’d move. It was odd, but not bad.

Frankie woke everybody up at 3:30, too early, so I snuggled between him and Arthur for the next four hours and had wonderful Christmas dreams. It began with Mummy and Daddy. I had bought some gifts from a shop, and they were delivered the next day in a big green shopping bag: a large crochet snowman and lots of wooden Christmas characters like nutcrackers and uniformed mice. Then Daddy and I walked the dog out back. There were piles of autumn leaves everywhere and a creek. He had a couple of poodle ornaments that I had made. He was picking at one, and I told him not to ruin the finish. I showed him a little toad that I had made out of puff balls hiding at the base of a tree. Then I was shopping with my work mates. It was really busy, I was checking out. I had bought three different little Christmas plants, Trump flags, and other things, all loaded into a brown shopping bag. The clerk, a friend, nearly forgot the Trump flags. Murphy, a friend from Denny’s, was there, putting things away into a cupboard. We were talking about old concerts we had been to. I told him that I had seen Motley Crue as a kid, and Wham! before George Michael had killed a girl. As I was leaving I was talking to the stock lady from the little market where I shop. She was showing me some basil buns in a plastic bag on a top shelf. I told her that I had them and liked them a lot.

DOC is OUT! (Doc Holliday)

Another musical satire DOC covers the life of Doc Holliday from birth till death. I've loved Doc Holliday since I was a kid. In grad school I took The American West as my elective because I knew nothing of it besides Doc Holliday. I often see my professor, Dr. Dixon, on The History Channel. I wrote my final paper on Doc Holliday. I got an A, but Dr. Dixon always gave me As. I was the only girl and English major surrounded by historians. Val Kilmer's passing forced this one out of me. What a great actor, he was Morrison. He was Doc. Historical fiction, I tried to stick to the facts in a sketchy world. What I could not find I filled in from my own life, so Doc and I finally meet. Yes, I romanticized him. No, he was not an angel, but he will always be an angel to me. Available for kindle as an e-book, it is soon to be released in all formats.

Sunday Morning

Dreams 7/13

   7/13

Couple of dreams this morning in spite of the native DRUMS that bang out the same beat every Saturday: I awoke with my head banging in time. Frankie was going after the Vampire Lestat doll. First I dreamed about having tickets for a dog show. I woke up, that’s why I can’t remember much more.

The second dream was much more in depth and starred my brother. I had several enormous aquariums. One was separated three times. My brother noticed two male Bettas in the left hand portion. There was a little black girl, here, in the dining room with me. She had her hair pulled back into a curly ponytail and wore a yellow and white checked sundress. I had repotted a tree and had a big empty black tub full of soil. I put a yellow and white crocheted doily in it. The little girl was helping me water it with water in a plastic gasoline jug from the back garden. Meanwhile I had caught Julius, a stars and stripes Betta, in a mesh bag that also contained some dwarf frogs and green plants. I was looking for a place to put him, away from any other male Bettas, but was having a hard time. I had a lot of Bettas.

All Tuckered Out

I have to be real quiet, if I get up, poor guy wakes up and follows me. His first toy, there, is Houdini. I registered him. He's officially Sir Arthur Conan Doyle now.

Arthur's Busy Day

Arthur is already learning to sit. He enjoyed his bath. He likes the fireflies and doesn't mind fireworks. From a ride to shopping he met his brother, Frankie. He's doing well with potty training and walking on a leash. He had a manicure and a peppermint bath after his meatloaf and peas. Like Shiner, he likes Greenies. I'll brush his teeth tomorrow. That'll do, dog.
